Preparing for the estate clearance

If you can, go through the home together as a family first and decide who wants what. Mark what should be kept with notes or put it in a room of its own. The rest you don't need to sort – we do that.

Find out which spaces belong to the home. Landshövdingehus buildings and older rental blocks often have attic and basement storage, houses a garage, outbuilding and shed. Gather the keys and tell us when booking if a gate, door or barrier needs opening.

If there is a date to meet – a viewing, an inspection by the association or the day the landlord wants the keys back – tell us straight away and we will schedule the clearance well before. We cannot transport hazardous waste such as leftover paint, chemicals and batteries, but Gothenburg's recycling centres accept it, for example Alelyckan, Högsbo and Tagene.
