Pack as much as possible into boxes before we arrive — it saves time and makes the move smoother. Label boxes by room (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom) so we can put everything in the right place straight away. Disassemble furniture that is too large to carry whole: IKEA wardrobes, bed frames and large dining tables are much easier to move in pieces. Empty the fridge and freezer at least a day before the move and disconnect the washing machine. Make sure stairwells are clear and the lift is booked if there is one. Have keys to both the old and new home ready and let neighbours know there may be some traffic in the stairwell.

We handle everything from safes and heavy appliances to children's bikes and garden furniture. The whole family can head to the new home and start setting up while we drive the last loads.
