Prepare for TV transport

Have the original box? Use it — it provides the best protection. Otherwise we protect with furniture blankets. Disconnect all cables (HDMI, power, aerial) and pack them separately. If the TV is wall-mounted — we can unmount it, but it saves time if you do it in advance. Remove any external devices (Apple TV, Chromecast, soundbar) that are attached. Wipe the screen so any existing damage is visible before transport. Make sure there is clear passage through doors and stairwells. Have entry codes ready for both addresses.

Why TVs must always be transported upright

A flat-screen TV should never lie down during transport. The screen panel — especially OLED and QLED — is designed to bear its weight vertically. If the TV lies flat, the panel is exposed to pressure and vibration that can cause permanent damage: dead pixels, panel cracks or warped edges. We always transport the TV upright in the van, protected with furniture blankets around the entire screen and secured with tie-downs against the van wall. That's how the manufacturers recommend it — and how we always do it.
