Preparing for appliance collection

Turn off fridges and freezers at least 24 hours before collection — this reduces weight and prevents leaks. Empty the contents of fridges, freezers and dishwashers. You don't need to disconnect water or electricity yourself — our team handles that on site. Move any loose items standing in front of or next to the appliances to speed things up. If you have access to service valves for water, note where they are so we can shut them off quickly.

Fridges and freezers contain refrigerants (often CFCs) that deplete the ozone layer if released. Washing machines and dishwashers contain metals and electronics that can be recycled.
